An English lesson? Or a geography lesson?
We are studying the names and capital cities of countries, along with questions such as "Where are you from?" "What is the capital city of ...." etc. I decided to do a quiz to see if the students could put the countries into the correct regions of the world.
Hmmmm. Not so much! We did work it out with everybody's input and the help of a large atlas!
After the conversation practice, the grouping of countries, all the students looked up and wrote down the capital cities of their assigned countries.
There was a lot of "Where is Thailand?" "Please turn the map around" "Where IS Thailand???" going on!
